A student wishing to start a PhD project at the school of Chemical Sciences and Technologies must apply at the call by the University of Milan for EU citizens or non-EU citizens. The Doctorate School offers a total of 15 three-year fellowships each year:

* 9 fellowships in Chemical Sciences

* 6 fellowships in Industrial Chemistry

* 5 fellowships in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Additional fellowships for students of  three courses can be provided by: the Ministry of the University and Research for research on pre-determined topics; public and private research institutions (CNR, industries, etc.) within the framework of ad-hoc agreements with the University of Milano; and single research groups on their own research funds.

A maximum of 20 PhD position per year are available in each course.

Admission is obtained by presenting an adequate CV, and by passing an oral exams.

Applications must be presented as requested in a specific call issued by the University of Milano (generally in July, with deadline for submission in September). The Doctorate Schools also offers one fellowship per year to extra-EU students in possess of a title of study equivalent to that required for admission to EU students (Master of Sciences in Chemistry or equivalent). In this case the admission does not require an exam, but simply the evaluation of the candidates’ CV, as indicated in a dedicated call for application issued by the University of Milano (generally in October with deadline in November).
